When the Japanese were falling over themselves to launch new bikes finding imaginative ways to squeeze in more & more cylinders, the engineers from Berlin stood their ground, 2 cylinders, boxing. Revolutions were limited to crank shafts, evolution was their raison d'etre and so only the capacity increased.
